#DRAMA WORKSHOP

Participating in the drama workshop conducted by Reju Sir at our college was one of the most transformative experiences of my academic journey. I entered the day with a mix of excitement and nervousness, unsure of what to expect but eager to explore a side of myself that I hadn’t fully tapped into before.

From the very beginning, Reju Sir created an environment that was both challenging and supportive. The day started with warm-up exercises designed to help us let go of our inhibitions and connect with our inner selves. As someone who tends to be reserved, I found this both exhilarating and a little daunting. But as we moved through the exercises, I began to feel more at ease, more open to the process.

The improvisation games were particularly eye-opening for me. They required quick thinking and a willingness to take risks—skills that don’t come naturally to me. Yet, under Reju Sir’s guidance, I found myself embracing the unexpected, learning to react in the moment rather than overthinking every move. It was liberating to step into different characters, to explore emotions and scenarios I hadn’t considered before.

One of the most impactful moments of the workshop was when we were divided into small groups for a performance exercise. Each group was given a scenario to act out, and we had to work together to bring it to life. This wasn’t just about acting; it was about collaboration, creativity, and trust. As we brainstormed and rehearsed, I realized how drama could build connections and bring out the best in each of us.

When it was our turn to perform, I felt a mix of adrenaline and calm—something I hadn’t expected. We presented our scene, and as I saw the reactions from my peers and felt the energy in the room, I understood the power of drama in a new way. It wasn’t just about the performance itself but about the journey to get there—the growth, the discovery, and the sense of accomplishment.
